The relationship between club and international football, is one that usually runs in perfect harmony but sometimes it has a habit of being destabilised and with dates continually at a genuine premium, one wonders how the two elements of the sport can co-exist. A club versus county row usually flares up when a player is employed by a major European outfit, but instead flies a national flag in one of the other confederations, for example South America’s COMNEBOL or Africa’s CAF.
